[1457] VOB file playback banding issue

Playback of certain VOB files exhibits a horizontal block banding on the video being played back.

If I understand your codec string you advocate using ffshow for this which I have as part of the k-lite mega codec pack (the latest version as of about a week ago).

As far as I can ascertain this problem exhibits itself when the video is encoded using MPEG 2 with a scan type of interlaced. It does not seem to to occur when the scan type is progressive.

Firstly, is there a setting I need to tinker with in the ffshow controls to resolve this, if not this is a bug.

This does not happen in Windows media player which, I think, uses the same codec.

MediaMonkey does not yet have an option for de-interlacing and scaling (I requested this feature in this thread http://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewto ... =4&t=60865 )

However you can enable this through FFDShow Video Decoder configuration, I use these settings:




However note that this may cause problems with other applications that use FFDSHOW.

Sesam - thanks for the update and I've applied the settings as you describe.

This has solved the problem in the mini player video window but not the normal playback window when MM is maximised. It has also not solved the problem when playing back in full screen mode so this is still an issue.

Unfortunately VOB's do not play right even using the above setting . These files ply OK in Windows Media Player

Yes I'm using Windows 7 - 64 bit running on an Intel quad core with an nvidea Gforce 9500GT with 1Gig of RAM on the board
