I have never been able to get auto-tag to work in MM5. I have to go back to MM4 to get the tags. When I select individual songs, or an album of songs, select auto-tag, more often than not, the correct album comes up, with the correct artwork and artist. But that's it. The "Tag & Continue" button is greyed out, and the only option available is "Cancel". I've tried all the metadata lookup databases, but still nothing. I've unchecked "Prefer faster metadata..." thinking that might help. Nothing seems to work.
Auto-tag works in MM4.
Is it user error? Am I missing a step? I want to get on board with MM5, but can't. Still relying on MM4 to manage the tags.

Also trying to understand the workings of the auto-tag feature.
How to select a track and all metadata?
The only checkable box available is for the track title.

You select the file to be tagged in the Title checkbox, which fields will be tagged is set in the Options: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... g_Settings

Re: Auto-tag in MM5 doesn't seem to be working...
Ok, understood. Thanks, Lowlander.
But there is a bit of a problem with that:
If I deselect "Title" in metadata options (Because title is already a value i want),
there is no way to select any tracks.
Workaround:
Leave "Title" selected in options and reverse the titles in every track to the original (wanted) one offered in the pulldown-list in "Title".
Certainly doable, but wouldn't a general checkbox for selecting the whole track be more convenient?
BTW: The audio-finger-printing for metadata searching is a great and very useful feature that distinguishes MM5 from MM4. It already helped finding metadata for a lot of tracks with unknowns.
