CD will not eject after rip [#18689]

Post by bigredheadone »

When ripping a CD, I will check the box to eject the disc when finished but when it has completed it does not eject.
Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Which Build (Help > About) are you using and are you able to eject the CD from File Explorer (to check if this works on the drive itself)?

5.0.2.2527

Yes it will eject in Window File Explorer.

I will check the eject box on rip, but the setting is undone when confirming rip.

By the way, auto eject after rip does work in competitors media player.

I checked and it worked as expected on 5.0.2.2528

Can you Rip a CD with the option disabled, then Rip a CD with the option enabled. Does it still fail to do this?

I have ripped cd with Windows Media Player and MusicBee and both eject cd successfully.
MM5 is not. Could this be a registry error?

Eject CD after ripping works for me with MM 5.0.2.2528 RC-4 without any problems.

My parameters:

I think MM5 may not be recognizing all the capabilities of my CD player.

If I do not have a CD in the tray and then click rip, I receive a message box stating there is not a CD present and an open tray button appears.
I press that button and the tray opens.

On the window depicted below the only option already checked on the menu is rip on the fly. I can check the eject CD after ripping button, level track volume or verify ripped track but when I click ok it does rip the CD but will not eject upon completion.
When going back to ripping options the only box still ticked is the rip on the fly. It is not retaining the previous task checked. Just the rip on the fly.

I just don't get it. Why will it work in the other programs and not MM? I have exhausted everything I can think of and it still does on work.

Please capture the failure to save Rip settings in a debug log (step 4b), using the same steps you outlined above, then attach the log to a Support Ticket: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=86643

This will help a developer analyze why the settings aren't being saved (which is the likely problem).

Hi,
thanks for reporting, good catch!

It's really that the settings does not persist.
