Error message when I try to do anything [#18956]

Post by pkara »

For some reason whenever I try to do anything like use auto-tag, even just double-clicking, I get an error message.

I have no idea why it's happening. I try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I still keep getting the same messages.

Hi,
I can't see your image. Can you repost it using different IMG provider like https://imgbb.com/ ?

Hi,
Now Images are there. Interesting errors, almost like something interupts Chromium renderer in MM.

Can you try Installing latest MM as Portable from https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 86639&sd=d to for example "C:\MMtest" and see if you observe same issue.

HINT: Skip first time start wizard as it is not needed for testing and also you can use your existing MM5.DB to Portable folder https://www.mediamonkey.com/support/kno ... ini-files/ so that you can test on real enviroment.

Hi,
Hmmm. interesting. I hoped that it is just settings.

In order to get to bottom of this please create compressed debug log using latest Debug version and description from https://www.mediamonkey.com/forum/viewt ... 30&t=86643

Once you create debug log you can attach it to Support ticked at https://www.mediamonkey.com/support

The error is in a script file in the MM5 helpers directory. The file name is named musicBrainz.js

I don't have that file. ... ie. iit does not seem to a file that is part of the standard MM5 installation.
Do you know where you got it from? Have you installed any MM5 addon?
If so, maybe the author could help you.

What version of MM5 are you running (see Help>About). I am running version 5.0.3.2611.
Want a dark skin for MM5? This is the one that works best for me .. elegant, compact & clear.

I don't have any addon apart from the stock ones. I am running the latest version.

The above file in my 2611 install is located in programfiles(x86)/mediamonkey/scripts/MusicBrainz/helpers dated same as all the other files same as current installation.

You could try uninstalling, restart computer, then clean out the Mediamonkey folder in program files to make sure no mismatched files left in there, and then re-install latest version directly.

All your config files and music database should be stored in appdata folder, so in theory nothing should be lost by doing this.

Thanks Rob. Ignore what i said.

The error message said:
TypeError: Cannot set property ’editable' of undefined at window.Control.wikiEl.controlClass.startEdit (file:///helpers/music6rainz.js:
I was looking in folder Program Files (x86)\MediaMonkey 5\helpers
I do have that musicbrainz.js script.

My guess is that is not going to help.

I think that if the problem is reproducible, it may require what Peke suggested.

Nobody asked about what version of windows you are running? We tend to assume everyone has Windows 10 these days, but not necessarily so.

Autotag relies on making the song file editable, so that could be a permissions issue? Can you edit tags manually, ie F2 to change the title of a track?

You also mention double-click, which by default just plays the track, unless you have changed that setting to edit it. Are you able to play these tracks??

One of the images talks about reading date of undefined, which makes me thing the track is not accessible where the database thinks it is. Maybe a re-scan??
