Classification properties not available as vewable columns

Post by daved »

MM2.2, XP

The tempo, mood, occasion and quality fields on the "classification" tab are not available as columns in the list view. The 3 custom fields are.

I wonder if that is because the classification properties are available on their own toolbar? Although, having said that, the "rating" classification is available and it is also on the classification toolbar...

There is an instance where it would be useful to have them available in the list view, viz:

I am trawling through my collection updating the quality field based on bitrate, sample rate, etc. I started out by checking the properties of each track and updating the quality field appropriately. I then realised that I could check whole batches of tracks by sorting on the required columns in the list. Unfortunately, it is not then possible to tweak the quality field for those tracks that need it - the full properties dialogue must be opened.

In short, it would perhaps do no harm to enable all the properties to be available in list view.

Thanks in advance,
Dave

We hope to implement this, however it is a bit harder than it might seem, so it most likely won't be in the next version.

any news on these features? it's been a while, and it doesn't seem like such a big difference in functionalliy then implementing a feature like ciewing the "genre" in a column. they both part of the ID# tag, and both are driven by listboxes.

you have the option to rename the custom fields in the options for the program. just change one of them? and type in the tempos for your songs.
oh wait thats a lot of work?

why not have someone make a script that will do the above.
change the name of one of the custom fields and auto insert the tempo of the songs in to that field.
