I NEED HELP - Microsoft Keyboard keys and Mediamonkey

Post by chung373 »

I know this has been posted a million times and I've read like most of them but they all talk about logitech keyboards/setpoint while I have microsoft keyboard and intellitype 5.5.
I can't find a .ini file to edit in the intellitype folder. I have a backup logitech keyboard and I've editted the file for that and it works but it wont for my ms keyboard. i can only use the ms keys when mediamonkey is in focus.

Also:
I have a logitech mouse with a button set to minimize screens. I noticed that it works with like everything except mediamonkey, is there a way to fix this?
And
I have a dell media remote that came with my dell 4600. Does anyone know how to customize its functions or controls? I can't finda control panel or program and the only buttons that work with media monkey are the play and pause button. cant skip song or go back.

Thanks!dkljgal;jd#@$@

I believe Peke is the man to solve this!

Bex,
You asked for me :)

Well most Keboards have this problem as Win Itself do not recognize MM as Multimedia App :( so when MM is on focus we use our own routines to catch keyboard events (pressed key) as windows assume that key is pressed for focused application and parse it to application. on the other hand when MM is minimized to tray win do not recognize MM as Multimedia App and do not assume that it should parse Keyboard command to it. Sometimes i Have seen that win do that if MM is minimized to task bar not just Tray Icon. but it also fixes that for some keyboards. Alternatively search forum and find my small app that sends MM key commands (MMkeys) then use it as external app on key press.

2. For remote yopu could try to find Girder 3.3.2.9 I think it is the last one that is free as I think it support Dell Remote via plugin after that only thing you will need to do is to import my Girder Script and replace Remote commands from mine ATI Remote Wonder to Dell Remote (it will be easy as it will prompt you to learn what key do what) and you are Up and running.

Would you happen to know what the command would be to access the Next & Previous Tracks? Something like:

C:\Program Files\Audio\MediaMonkey\MediaMonkey.exe /next

I just don't know what all the calls are...if I did, then I could get the MS keyboard to do what I want.

Thanks!

I'm having a similar issues with this. Peke's MMkeys application seems to be what I need, but the download link and the link to his site appear to be down.

Is Peke still around? Is MMKeys still available?
