Spotify downloaded playlist time limit
Is there still a time limit on streaming playlists from Spotify that I have downloaded for offline use? I can see the time limit if one is streaming on-line, but what if you are just playing your downloaded Spotify playlists that you have imported to MM? I want to make use of the Airport Express remote speaker add-on. I am having a lot of trouble with the remote speaker add-on with Windows 11 but the developer is helping me out. I do not want to go back to iTunes and I don't want to buy a very expensive Spotify compatible streamer. Thank-you in advance.

OK thanks....I was hoping it was different for Spotify playlists that were downloaded and available for offline playback.
Re: Spotify downloaded playlist time limit
It doesn't download any files, it just adds them to the Library (but with links to the Spotify stream for the file).

Re: Spotify downloaded playlist time limit
Correct....that is why I thought it would play uninterrupted since MM is linking to Spotify files that are actually on your PC that can be played with PC offline. True that Spotify makes you go online every 30 days to maintain these downloaded playlists, but in between times you can play right from the Spotify app completely offline. There must be some way Spotify knows you are accessing playlists from within the app though you are not streaming from the web.....and limits time the same as if you were streaming from the web. Frustrating. Just want to play to my Airport Express in my garage.....not like I'm sharing with someone outside. Thanks though....won't bother sync with MM then.
Re: Spotify downloaded playlist time limit
Hi, during scan from Spotify the tracks are matched with your local track copies already on the PC -- so the matched tracks will play offline without a need to connect to Spotify.

That is what I was hoping would happen but didn't want to load up my MM before I knew. I will now go ahead and do this one day soon and report back to confirm. I am assuming MM doesn't actually load the files, but only directs your selection to the Spotify app on your phone where the files have to reside?. Thus the tracks would still disappear after 30 days unless you went online with Spotify in between. This brings one more question, if you select entire MM library to play random (after syncing Spotify to MM) would MM include Spotify tracks as it randomly selected?
Re: Spotify downloaded playlist time limit
MediaMonkey does not interact with the Spotify App on your phone and Spotify integration is only available on MediaMonkey for Windows 5.
What Ludek explained is that Sync matches physical files on your PC already in your MediaMonkey Library with files on Playlists in Spotify. So when you play the Spotify Playlist it uses the already existing local files. For those files on your Spotify Playlist not in your MediaMonkey Library it will only be able to play the 30 seconds directly from Spotify.
