One of my two main collections/nodes is Classical Music. For this I need one of the columns/filters to be an extended tag, "country". I have not found a way to do this. Any suggestion as to how to achieve this?
Thanks in advance

Re: Extended tags column
You can enable Extended tags as a column, but not individual fields in extended tags. In that case you're better suited to use Custom Tags.

Thanks. How could I enable Extended Tags as a column? I can't find the option.
And, is there a way inside Mediamonkey, to make all those extended tags into Custom Tags?

Not in MediaMonkey itself, and I don't think there is an Addon for this either.

Re: Extended tags column
I meant in the upper part of the view (list view). The option doesn't seem to exist there. It doesn't matter, it wouldn't work if it can't show individual extended tags.
Thanks

Re: Extended tags column
The next question then, would be: does anyone know of some other software where I could view/edit those external tags and transform them into a Custom Tag that Mediamonkey could read/show?
Thanks

Re: Extended tags column
No, there is no universal app that read/write extended tags, but I saw some apps use it to save/read their own data. Unfortunately devs decided not to publish it as they are made for internal use. Someone need to create free plugin.

Re: Extended tags column
I used Jriver for a while, while trying to decide between it o Mediamonkey. Jriver reads/writes no problem the tag Country and it could indeed show it as a filter/column in a chosen view. But most of these tags were not actually written in Jriver, but in Guayadeque (linux) which unfortunately stopped being developed/supported. So to me, as a user, not a technical guy, I'm not sure what the problem/difficulty is, although it seems a very reasonable tag to be attached to a music file.
Re: Extended tags column
ID3 (used in MP3) does not seem to have a tag for Country, Vorbis (used in FLAC) seems to have a Location (where the track was recorded) tag that could be used for this.
Generally MediaMonkey only implements tags widely available across the different tagging standards.
