who uses splash screens

okay i want to know if everyone is using splash screens or if your turning them off.?

I use them as an indication of the startup process, some apps take forever to open and at least this way I know it is still doing something.

I think this is personal to each person. Anybody can put whatever ever image they like as a splash screen, or create their own.

yep i know that but i am checking to see if it is worth adding them to the skins. i've made one for each skin.
some of them are in the ones for download now. but the others are just waiting to be added. but i remembered seeing posts of what vyper said he did and that is turn them off.

so is it worth doing the extra work to make a matching splash screen for each skin or is it a waste of time to add them. i tested the idea when i put the other screens in the ones online now, then the posts about how to turn them off started showing up. so this poll was done.

its like what should i put them in the skins for if they are just going to be tossed out and not used.? it took 6 hours or so to get them all made to match the skins it will take that long to get all of them put in and up loaded.
when on this dial up. i think the splash screens are only there for a second or two if everything loads fast it does not make any difference if they are there or not. but if every thing loads slow it is nice to see the screen there to show it is still trying or locked up doing loading. and also adding them to the skin will make the ones already in use be overwrote if anyone installs the skin from the mmip file. i can just add the line to make them aware of that like i did for the others, it is just not knowing if any one wants them or uses them. so back to this poll.

not me not now. i'm on dial up i just tried to send trix his two skins with the new splash screen in them i can't even get them sent from hotmail to him?

but i did put all the splash screens in the skins. when i seen the numbers for yes over take the numbers for no.

but i have not got them up loaded yet, cause i'm on dial up for now.

well looks like twice as many use them as don't use them.

i sent trixmoto his skins with the new splash screen in them so when he gets them up remember if you download them you have to back up your custom splash screen your using now or it will be gone.

all mine have splash screens in too. but my new versions are not uploaded yet i'm still on dial up. maybe this week i'll get them up. i hope to get the usb controllers and nec pci controllers back in to this computer this week or get a new computer,.

I'm using a splash screen provided by CoachUK; thanks Coach. I agree that it is nice to have something to look at while waiting for MM to load. I, too, would like to see some more; like in a thread as suggested by dypsis. Would I be able to create my own from an image, or is that a job for experts?

It's easy, just save the image as Splash.jpg or Splash.png in Mediamonkey\Brand\ directory.
