Seek bar height on "Blue Glass"

Post by n13 »

Would someone be able to tell me how to increse the height of the seek bar and volume bar in this skin? (Blue Glass)

i have got the "themeeditor7" and have found the "height" of the bars but when i change it and save it i firstly dont know how to get it back to *.msz file??

and even if i got it there i think i would probably need to change the slider image too?

I just want a "fatter" volume and seek bar... as dont like having to lign my mouse up with a 5 pixel bar.... :)

anybody help me on this one??

blue glass is no longer supplyed as a default skin and you can not find it only if some one sends it to you that kept it.
blue glass while looking nice has been made very un updateable only by the org. author cause there are things that are not in it that should be.

as to the postion of items on any player skin they are controled in the player ini file. you must change the postion pixels in it. and then test the skin with monkey. then adjust the pixel numbers again.

so you need a test version of the uncompressed skin.
start monkey load that test version of the skin.
open the player ini as a text file
find the area for the seek bar
find the pixel postion numbers.
change the one for the height you want remembering that you have others that might be needed changed too.
or the seek bar will cover them.
then you save the player ini file
then you change the monkey's test skin to its micro or floatplayer skin,
then you change back to the main skin and see what you moved your seek bar too and if it covers anything
reapeat the testing until you get it in proper postion and not covering anything.
and all others are in postion to be user friendly also.

thats the same for every button and item on the player skins. main. floatplayer, and micro player.
the items on the theme part of the main skin are controlled by the developers.

oooook, i have had a shot at it,

changed the height in the "player.ini" file of the volume and seeker bar from 5 to 10, tested it and they have both moved down (what i would guess is 5 pixels)

GREAT...

so i open the "newplayerbg.png.bmp" up in photoshop and make the gap bigger for both the volume and seeker bar.

make the "trackknob.png.bmp" and "trackbar.png.bmp" taller and gave that a spin... and now its all gone wrong and its gone to some kind of default?

is photoshop the wayu to edit them? and why do the images have ext: png.bmp.... which should it be!!???

well you can use any photo editing program to make the files.

.bmp.bmp or .png.bmp is only because the theme engine exports the image and adds the last bmp to all the images.

you can remove them and use just the first image format in the line which is what the images were made as when the author put them in to the theme file.

when you mess with locations for items on the player the go by upper left corner of the player image as pixel 0 x 0 so moving things up from 5 only has 5 pixels of space which is not alot.

and enless the blue glass skin has changed your in for a rough time of trying to make the items apper in the proper location when you make a background image change. that skin was not made for mediamonkey but for another player and was able to be used on monkey. hence the background image map is missing from it.
along with a few other things. so i'd suggest going to the monkeys wiki site and downloading one of the new mm 3.2 skins, that were made with the same style of theme as the origanl default skin. most simplest for me to know what ones are like that is to say one of mine, the bluesmonkey is just my basic recolor of the original skin and has been updated with all the stuff for mm 3.2, you can download it install it then copy the msz file to another folder and use it to learn with.
you can also read the massive help files on the monkeys wiki site.
one i did for converting mm 2.5 skins in to mm 3 skins and my fast newbies walk through should help you get going on it. read the fast newbies walk through first as i tell you how to set up a testing folder.
then for more or a few different things to do you can read the converting one i said some of the stuff in both of them. then if you want more details read the walk through that rusty did. and if you can find mortens then read his too.

but trying to start out with the blue glass or mortens or even nohitter151's vitrusblue skin for learning how and what is needed for mm skins is a bit like jumping out of the airplane before you learn how to put on the parachute.

i'm not a programmer and or script writer those guys are so mine is just wrote as i was doing the skin. which is when i was a newbie to doing it.
and i make my skins the same way now. :D
