Adding downloaded skins
Moderator: Gurus
Hello
Skin files (mostly .wsz files I guess) have to be placed in Mediamonkey's "Skins" folder. This folder is usually "C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Skins".
After you have added a skin to the folder, the skin will be added to the skin options dialog. (Menu "Tools" > "Options..." > "Appearance" > "Skins". Now you can activate the added skin.
Cheers

he is right the skins are wsz files the same as winamp classic skins.
he forgot to tell you if you download a skin and the file you download is listed as a " .wsz " skin that will download automaticly in to your winamp skin folder. so you will need to go in there and copy it or move it to the skin's folder in media monkeys folders.
if you download a zipped file of the skin (as all of mine are in zip files)
you can then just unzip it in to the media monkey skin folder.
how ever most winamp skins will not skin the whole player.
in order to skin the whole player the wsz file must have the theme.mskn file added in it.
you make the theme.mskn file with the theme skinning engine. both me and trixmoto have the old version on our sites for you to download.
i am not sure about anyone else that is making skins for media monkey, but i make mine to work as full skins in both winamp and media monkey.
if the others just make a winamp 2x classic skin then they are only making a player skin. when used in media monky.
and if they are only making the main player skin for the winamp 2x classic skin. then adding in the theme mskn file they are only making a full skin for media monkey.
but i am making mine as i said both full skins. for me this is not a fast process it takes about 20 hours to make a full winamp classic skin.
then it an take another 5 hours to make the theme file for making the skin a full media monkey skin. and that is after you spend time finding the idea and making your images or getting your images.
so the whole process can take up to 3 days if your fast at it.
or if you use a winamp skinning program and make another brushed steel version skin which would be about brushed steel skin number 30089.
as that is what most people make.
check the artwork room for the stick thread called MM Skins that is were all the skin sites urls are located. enjoy.
