Auto playlists - how to use? (free version)

I'm not exactly sure of how to use the auto playlists function. I mean, I see the fields to enter but how is it beneficial? If you put in an artist name, then that's all that will be added - just songs by that artist, right? I see you can do a year range, but I don't get the benefit of the rest of ...

How do you rip CD tracks directly to a device?

Does MM allow you to rip tracks directly to an MP3 player without putting them on my hard drive? I've tried to find how to do this using the Help function in the software but couldn't find it.

Less than 1,000 but that may very well change this year as I got a new Sansa Clip and discovered MediaMonkey! 8)

What is your system spec? My is Win XP SP2, AMD Athlon 4000+ , dual core. and to which format do you convert the tracks? I'm also using Win XP but not sure of my computer's specs - it's a Gateway we've had for 3 or 4 years. I've been formatting to MP3 160kbps. Mostly what I've been ripping lately ...

You're welcome RickH. I just realised though that the automatic library feature is disabled in the free version so you will have to scan manually each time you add music with another app. I ripped at normal speed with Roxio Easy CD, then manually scanned the tracks as you suggested, then put them ...

CD ripping very slow with free version

I'm new to the forum so excuse me if this has been discussed a lot but ripping CD's with MM is painfully slow but when I rip the same discs using WMP or Roxio, that's a whole lot faster. Anyone else having this problem or have an answer as to why this is? I'd like to keep using MM but this is a ...

Is this thread just about the Gold version? Anyway, I'm a new user of the free version of MM and I'm still learning the ropes of using this program - there's far more that I don't know than I do about all it's features. It seems there's a bit more of a learning curve with this than I thought there ...

look for the option to have monkey make a playlist for recently added files. and check it. that will put them all in the playlist with the date you added them as the name of the playlist.

Hello from NC

Brand new member here...just downloaded MM a few days ago for use with my Sansa Clip and I'm really lovin' it more and more every time I use it. Looks like a great forum here - I'm hoping you guys/gals discuss the method to your madness regarding how you go about creating your playlists when it ...
