I'm floored and ecstatic to see this feature available!!!!

The songs seem to sync, but I'm not getting any volume playback once the songs are on the iPhone.

I'm running iPhone firmware v 1.1.3 if that makes a difference.

^Right. Album Artist was never (to my knowledge) a standard node. The problem doesn't only apply to "Various Artists" albums. It's an issue with any album that has "guest artists" on a track. What happens currently with Artist node: The Roots > Game Theory > Illadelph Halflife > Organix The Roots ...

I completely agree. This has been a major annoyance for me. Album Artist should be the default node. Please oh great developers, help us out here :)

Nope. It's an every media player that I'm aware of issue. They all pull the artist data from the 'artist' field and not the 'album artist' field. If you know one that doesn't, I'd be glad to hear it. Ive used the Sansa 200 series, Zune, Ipod and Creative Zen players...

I agree. It's very frustrating with my ipod for example. I want to hear all songs from an artist, but can't select 'play all' if the artist has other people on some songs...

Add Album Artist node?

This may already be possible, but I would love to have a node for viewing album artist rather than by 'artist'.

So, what's the best way to separate multiple artists?

Given this example:

I'm not sure why you say that... I use auto organize and I've never had characters removed from the tag - the file name yes, but it replaces it with a "-".

Searching for special characters in Album Artist

I haven't been using MM3 much so this issue may have been fixed already but... When I am going through my library trying to clean up artist information e.g. Artist 1 (feat. Artist 2) or Artist 1; Artist 2 You get the idea. I am tagging all of my artist fields as Artist 1/Artist 2 etc. When I use the ...
