Compilation Albums
If I load Compilation Albums by entering Track Title, Track Artist, Album Name and "Various Artists" as the Album Artist:
In Album View this results in a single Album and I see all the tracks and the associated artists, which is what I want.
In Artist View if I select the Compilation Album for the artist I am shown all the tracks for all artists on the album, which I do not want.
If I load Compilation Albums by entering Track Title, Track Artist, Album Name and Track Artist as the Album Artist:
In Album View this results in multiple Albums, one for each artist and each showing only the Artist's tracks, so no complete view of the album is available which I do not want.
In Artist View if I select the Compilation Album for the artist I will see only the tracks for that artist, which is what I want.
Is there any way to obtain my two wants:
Album View I see a single album which shows all tracks
Artist View I see only the tracks from that artist on the compilation album.
Addendum:
If an album is a duet album then listing both Artists separated by a semicolon as the Album Artist and then one or both of the artists as the track artist works very well. The Album is listed under both Artists and if a track was a solo it is clearly marked. The album also appears only once in the album list.

Re: Compilation Albums
You're looking to use Contributing artists node instead of Artists in the Collection you're using. Artists includes both Artists and Album Artists.

Thank you Lowlander for the quick response.
Unfortunately having only been using MMW5 for 24 hours your answer did not help me.
I am using version 5.0.4.2690 and can find no reference to Contributing Artist anywhere.
Is is a feature only of the "Gold" version?
I checked the link you provided and Contributing Artist is not mentioned anywhere.
I would appreciate it if you could elaborate on your response.

Re: Compilation Albums
I purchased the Gold edition, but still do not see anything about Contributing Artists.
However on this page: https://www.mediamonkey.com/wiki/WebHel ... erties/5.0
I found the following:
Multiple Artist Albums
Multiple Artist Albums are different. They are not associated with any single Artist. These are often compilation Albums that may have files from many Artists on them. The Album Artist will often be Various Artists, Various or VA. For instance, the Album "The Big Chill" has an Album Artist of Various Artists but the file Artist for the Track I Heard it through the Grapevine is Marvin Gaye. This will be represented in the Media Tree:
In the Albums node as:
The Big Chill (Various Artists) with all files associated with The Big Chill Album
In the Artists node as:
Marvin Gaye with just the file Marvin Gaye - I heard it through the Grapevine
Various Artists > The Big Chill with all files associated with The Big Chill Album
This is NOT what is happening.
I removed a 76 track, 4 disc set from MMW5
I made sure that The Album Name was the same on all tracks and I made sure that the Album Artist was set to Various Artists in the file properties.
I then rescanned the folder.
In album view I see one album with four discs and beside each of the 76 track names I see the artist name.
In artist view I look at the first artist (alphabetically) and I see the Album, but when I click on the Album I see all 76 tracks not just the one for that artist.
In Artist view I look under Various Artist, find the album, and see all 76 tracks
Will someone please either tell me what I am doing wrong or tell me I wasted $50.43 cents because MediaMonkey cannot do what I want it to.

Did you go and configure a Collection under Tools > Options > Collection & Views like Music to add the Contributing Artists (Artists only) under the Sub-node tab? You need to use Contributing Artists node instead of Artist node to get the results you seek.

Yes I did.
New Collection="Music+"
Criteria: Type equals Music
Sub Nodes: All Tracks, Albums, Genres, Contributing artists, Composers, Years, Publishers, Rating, Classification, Location, Files To Edit
Open Music+ Tree
Click Contributing Artist, select an artist that appears on the compilation, and the compilation album shows, click the album and see all 76 tracks!
What now?

Yes, if you click the Album it will show all files on the Album as you will be taken to the Album node for that Album. But the Contributing Artist node should only show files where the artist value is in the Artist field.

That is my understanding as well but how do I convince you that it is not happening?
I am more than willing to accept that there is a parameter somewhere that I have not set but without some guidance to add to my non-existent in depth knowledge of the program I will never find it.

Does this translate to: Check the Artists (Artists and Album Artists) in the Sub-node list?
instead of viewing all files in the Collection through the root Contributing Artists node
Does this translate to: Select Artists under Music+ instead of Contributing Artists
If the answer to both was "yes" then I did so and it had no effect.
If the answer to one or both was No then I would appreciate it if you would dumb down your response to my limited knowledge/experience with MMW.

Re: Compilation Albums
Enable Show all subnodes using the ⋮ Menu button in the Media Tree, then you can expand the Contributing artists node and when you select an individual artist value you'll only see the files matching the Artist value, excluding the Album Artist matches for that selected artist value.
