Vitreous improvements [7208]

Post by Lowlander »

The Now Playing icon (at least it opens the Now Playing) in the MicroPlayer popup seems to be the same icon as used for Collections.

Tested on Vitreous skinned 1344 on XP.

You're right, I will have to change that.

Any other recommendations for changes to Vitreous? Tab sizes/etc? How does it look in XP overall, since I have not been able to test it at all? Any screenshots/descriptions appreciated.

Feel free to report at http://www.ventismedia.com/mantis/view.php?id=7208

Other than the weird bug around the titlebar which I believe has been reported and is probably not the skins fault, Vitreous looks good to me.

Feel free to PM me for specific screenshots if you need them.

Great, there are some strange things going on in MM3 if I load this skin in (that's the only way I've been able to test) but the same problems don't seem to be appearing in MM4. If you should find anything else, please feel free to post.

Btw: Haven't seen that titlebar issue, but if it also appears in Pulse it's most likely something Petr has to look at.

I had to restart MediaMonkey to reproduce in with the Pulse skin, but it happens in Pulse as well. I do believe this has been reported, just haven't found the post.

@Nohitter:

Simple way to test your skin:

Right click your Mediamonkey shortcut => properties => Compatibility tab
There you can make Mediamonkey start in XP compatibility mode.

Yes I get this sometimes too if I run in XP mode.
Sometimes I see this little glitch in the Artwork window (if Maximazed)

When this happens maximizing the main window and resizing the Album Art window seems to fix it.

Hello.

In blue:
.There is some inconsistencies between the borders of the play/pause button and the others.
.The gradients of the symbols are not consistent. ( Arrows / play / stop after current track )

In purple:
The counter is not vertically centered.

re.the tabs. They look very nice. I think you found the right size and design.
And I like the fact that the current tab is a little bigger than the unselected tabs.

*Screenshot was made using MM in xp compatibility mode.

@Lowlander: I changed the original topic title, I hope that is okay with you.

Ok, it should be resolved for build 1345. If you want to test it now, you can download the skin from:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=ZRRW205F

Place it into the \Skins\ subfolder under your MM4 installation directory, and restart MM.

Any other suggestions for improvement, please do post.

Completely agree on these.

Plus: I think the 'X' icon used for the 'Stop' and 'Stop after current' buttons is a bad choice. It's not standard! Why not use a worldwide recognizable square symbol?

i guess he wanted to be different gege.
like i used the ELO flying saucer for the stop button on my concert skin.
as a matter of fact theres very little normal buttons as you say on some of my skins.
makes it fun and new to see different buttons.

although nohitter151 i do wonder why the x was used that is the same button for delete and that might confuse some. :-?

OK, but we're talking about the DEFAULT skin here. I don't think it's a good place to play 'fun' and 'different'.

This is my point.

BTW, nohitter, please don't get me wrong. I do think you've made a great job. I'd just like to help making even better, which is the whole point of this thread :)
