Eclipse Skin for MonkeyRok v1.1 and v2.0 (now borderless)

Post by gege »

Eclipse goes borderless:
Look, mom! Now without the borders!
It looks like borderless is the new black in this forum, so I updated Eclipse skin for MonkeyRok. But DreadM, with his obscure powers, discovered I would do this, and did it before me. :roll: So, we've made a deal (terms will not be disclosed, don't ask) and now you guys are going to have not one, but two Eclipse skins for MonkeyRok!
ZvezdanD is the author of the original borderless code, then we also had to sign an agreement, so he won't sue us :lol: We also won't disclose the amounts involved in this operation.

Here are the skins:
Image

Important note 1: installing v1.1 (mine) will over-write the existing one; installing v2.0 (DreadM's) will keep the other one. Yes, you'll be able to keep both versions installed.

Important note 2: In fact, just installing these skins is not enough to get a completely bordeless MonkeyRok. To get a full seamless/integrated appearance -- as in the screenshots above -- you'll need a small change in your MonkeyRok.vbs file, as ZvezdanD explains here:
ZvezdanD wrote:...
1. In the c:\Program Files\MediaMonkey3\Scripts\Auto\MonkeyRok.vbs file, instead of the line 306:

Code: Select all

  web.Common.Align = 5
you should write:

Code: Select all

  web.Common.ClientWidth = pan.Common.ClientWidth
  web.Common.ClientHeight = pan.Common.ClientHeight
  web.Common.Anchors = 15
...
That's it! Enjoy!

--------------------------------------------------
How to use it?

1) Be sure you already have MonkeyRok installed.
2) Download the MMIP installation pack you want (link below).
3a) If you're using Vista or Win7, run MM as administrator ( right-click > "Run as Administrator..." on MM icon)
3b) Double-click on downloaded MMIP file. MediaMonkey3 will ask if you want to install it. Just click "Install Now".
4) No MM3 restart is needed. Just go to "Tools > Options > Player > MonkeyRok Settings > Skin" and choose "animated_eclipse" or "animated_eclipse2"

Ooo, another one! Thanks! :)

Love those ratings stars! Is there any way to use those in the skin, too?

SP:

I was thinking the same thing, but since I am trying to tackle changing some of the dark text, I figured I would come back to the stars.

Hey Gege,

nice job! I have a question for you about the install.ini inside the mmip file.
I tried to make one for my MR songbird skin but it didn't work. I noticed you added *.* to the code. What does it do?

Thanks,
Victor.

I made the version with no media buttons...(play, stop, pause)
it is identical to the other version except no buttons!

You can download it here:

Nice! It's not quite identical though. You've got the text left-aligned at the top there (where it says First Play!) when it should be right-aligned. :)

Ditto! I prefer it right-aligned ;-)

oh yea...forgot about that detail...that is the only other difference...and I did that because it doesn't have the media buttons and I thought it looked better for the text to be aligned on the left beside the album art...to me it looked like the text was kinda just floating around when it was aligned on the right without the media buttons above it, but that's just my opinion. All you have to do to change it from left to right or right to left alignment is open the SKIN.CSS file from the eclipse_no_btns folder...which should be located at:

C:\Program Files\MediaMonkey\Scripts\MonkeyRok\skins\eclipse_no_btns

in this document you will see....

Code: Select all

/* info */
#info_sub {
	font-weight: normal;
}

#info_left {
	background: transparent;
}

#info_right {
	text-align:left;
	vertical-align:top;
	padding-bottom:10px;
}

Just change the word at text-align: from "left" to "right" and then re-save the file back into the same place and done.

I added a bunch of stuff to the default text so it definitely looks better (for me) right-aligned. Thanks for instructions on how to change. :)

Really nice! :)

The only thing which looks different than the skin are the scrollbars. Is it possible to modify them so they look the same?

Big Berny,
They should look exactly like the screenshot above...

Can you post a screenshot, please?
What's the version of your IE?

Yes, it looks like this. But in the skin itself it looks different:

Don't know if that's possible though...
