Does it need one? I imagine it probably works fine.

I wasn't able to test MM4 yet. As soon as I can do it, I'll take a look at this issue.

Thanks, love your plug-in. Exactly what I needed.
Gege's Lyrics and Comment viewer + Lyricator -> finally can use only MM (have been using Songbird for lyrics).

Themes worked with 1345 until I completely uninstalled MM and reinstalled 1345, now themes don't work and font large. Vista (x64). Also can't install new lyrics view skins, says failed to install.

Lyrics Viewer will need to be updated in order to work properly with MM4. I already started working on a fix. Stay tuned.

I appreciate the "Search lyrics using Google" link for empty lyric fields, but why must it open Internet Explorer when my default browser is Chrome? I *&^#$@%n hate IE. BUT I LOVE YOUR ADDON!
Can I modify the script myself? Or is it MM that insists on using IE? Thanks!

Also, it's just a few extra clicks, no biggie, but I always want to be able to just PASTE lyrics from the clipboard to the empty lyric field with a right click. Wouldn't that be cool? Just saying... or possibly an additional link saying "Paste new lyrics" possibly.

MediaMonkey uses IE internally, in other words, the scripts run in IE, thus it opens IE automatically and there is nothing you can do about. It's the same when you open a link in a new window in Chrome, you can't have it open in Firefox then.

This has been asked (and answered) before :) and unfortunately I can't do nothing about it. In Firefox I workaround this with Firefox View extension. In Chrome I don't know if there's something similar.

I've always meant Lyrics Viewer to be a... err... viewer only, because we already have plenty of options to store lyrics, like Lyricator and Mini Lyrics. MAYBE this can change in the future, but I really don't have such feature planned.

APPRECIATED! I searched for an answer on this thread, honestly I did. Just not for "IE" oh well.

In MM3, you NEED admin rights to install add-ons (ANY add-on, not only lyrics viewer).
In MM4, currently in alpha stage, you'll be able to install add-on even as a restricted user.

Call for translators

Post by gege »

Hi, everybody

I'm currently preparing a new version of Lyrics Viewer, which will have full compatibility with MM4, so stay tuned. A beta should arrive in this thread soon.

Aside from the aforementioned MM4 compatibilty, there won't be so much new features, but one thing I'd like to add is some new translations. So...

Please help me to improve Lyrics Viewer by translating it to your language!

Currently the following languages are already included: English, Portuguese Brazilian, German (by DreadM) and French (by Eyal).

All you need to do is translate the code below to your language and send it to me via PM.

Code: Select all

[English]
"Lyrics and Comment Viewer"
"Ctrl+Alt+Y"
"Lyrics"
"Comment"
"Lyrics and Comment"
"There's no lyrics in id3v2 tag"
"Search lyrics using Google"
"Field Options"
"Display Options"
"Show track number"
"Show song title"
"Show artist name"
"Show album name"
"Show year"
"Show composer/lyricist"
"Show lyrics"
"Show comment"
"Show field names"
"Theme"
"Language"
"Hide panel titlebar"
"Show icon in Toolbar"
"Mode"
"Now Playing song"
"Selected Song"
"Mixed Mode (Default)"
"Behavior"
"Selected Song Mode: if there's multiple songs selected, picks the first one."
"Mixed Mode: if there's a song being played or paused, shows it. Otherwise, if the player is stopped, shows the first selected song."
Any help is really appreciated.

Lyrics Viewer 2.2beta released (fully supports MM4)

Post by gege »

So, nobody applied to translate LV in other languages. That's too sad :(
Anyway, I managed to get three more languages added to the bunch: italian, spanish and portuguese-portugal :)

And, finally we got a new (beta) version of your loved Lyrics Viewer. No major changes. Most important one is full compatibility with MM4 (while still compatible with MM3).
Here is full change log:

2.2beta: Apr 18, 2011
- Fixed: LV is now fully compatible with MM4.
- Fixed: 'Show track number' setting is now ignored if Track# field is empty.
- Added translations: French (by Eyal. Big thanks, pal), Italian (by my friend Giò), Spanish (by me, using Google Translate and current MM spanish translation by Pablo as a reference) and Portuguese-Portugal.
- Added: new Default (Vitreous) and Pulse themes.
- Changed: Titlebar is now hidden by default.
- Improved: MM active language is detected on first run and used automatically if correspondent translation is available in LV.
- Improved uninstall.

Download link is below. As this is a beta version, automatic update through extension manager is not available yet.
Please, test it and tell me if everything is working fine.
Give special attention the the newly added languages: check if MM language is correctly detected and assigned to LV; proof-read all the strings in the languages you speak.
