MM 3 alpha 3 Bug reports/ Feedback / Questions

can't use fixed size player skins it trys to split t hem up and stretch them out like the royal blue player.

can't send auto bug report wont connect to server.

all other skins load and will work but can't get the new one i just did that was working in alpha 2 to even load. it allways trys to split it and stretch it even when the mskn file has in it that it is a fixed size.

i just installed over the alpha 2 version

Unfortunately AudioScrobbler (last.fm) doesn't work in Alpha 3 neither. I really hoped that this qould be fixed, so that I can use Alpha 3 as my main player...

it seems that there's a problem with the winamp plugins, i tried to install toaster and it doesn't work either. at least it doesn't crash anymore

One of the first things that I notice are those huge text balloons. Now, I may be missing the option, but is it possible to switch them off? In the manus, they cover the other items and I just hate those things popping up everytime I point my mouse somewhere...

(Another Microsoft-like thing that you guys are copying. Now, I don't wish to be negative, but why is it that everything needs to look like MS's stuff? Many people who use MM started using it because they don't like the way MS is making their stuff. Otherwise, WMP would be fine... So, why the immitations all the time? -all the time refers to another remark I made here about the album view-)

With the last.fm-plugin (new and old version) enabled it crashs right a start up...

how did you install it? i downloaded it from the last.fm app but none of the plug-ins show up on the general plug-ins window, maybe that's why mm is not crashing

I don't think that it has something to do with that since it's only a dll in the plugins-directory. But the OS could make the difference. I use Windows Vista Ultimate.

Bug: In Album group mode, the program sorts by Track# before Disc#.

Bug:In Album group mode, when a tracklist for an album causes it to be taller than the screen, clicking songs has odd centering issues. Every single click alternates whether it is TOP-aligned or BOTTOM-aligned.

Suggestion: Also, I think there should be an option about the Album on the side. I would like to to always be on the top row, not the center of the songs.

Suggestion: In Album group mode, Option to lock the album art and album name/artist to the same name

Bug When in a filtered view using the Track Browser, when the current song finishes, it is ADDED to the screen you are currently browsing.

Suggestion In the Album/Song combined view, would it be possible to make clicking on the Artist name to be an automatic "Find more by same artist" dealie?

Bug: Is it known that "Find More By Same..." doesn't do diddly in the combined view?

Suggestion: The Album rating is always gray. Perhaps when all songs in that album are rated, it can go gold?

i have always wanted to be able to middle click on an artist, album, year, rating, etc, in now playing and have that be an automatic find more from the same

Random suggestions for keyboards:
As I was messing around with my media keyboard, certain things popped into my head.

Suggestion: Holding down the "Previous Track" or "Next Track" button for X seconds will begin to act as a rewind or fast-forward, similar to an iPod.

Suggestion: Previous track button rewinds to beginning of current track, not previous track if the song is has been playing for over X seconds.

Suggestion: Clicking on the volume bar does not instantly set it to that level. Only dragging will change the volume bar.

Suggestion: Support side-tilting on mice for the horizontal scroll bars.

It's good fun to see the logo changes, and the Vista style browsing. Prove that the joy of developing and the creativity is there in full power.

Seems to me that the Location node has been optimized a fair bit. Seems faster.

If I left click the 'new' and improved icon (just needs to be a bit bigger) on the right hand task bar (can't remember its name) playback pauses/stops.

I have mouse gestures set am I right in thinking this is a new feature? I use Global Audio Control (great package) and Ctl Z pauses play from there.

Not a complaint just an observation, would prefer if it wasn't that way but its work roundable.

under tools | options, there is the option in the General 'tab' to uncheck "show tooltips for context help," which should get rid of your problem with the bubbles.
