Quick Shuffle

When viewing any list of files you can use Quick Shuffle to quickly add all listed files to the Playing Queue in a random order. To this tap the Quick Shuffle icon at the top right of the screen next to the Search icon.


Selecting what to Play

You can select items like Files, Albums, Artists and Genres by long pressing on them. Once an item is selected you can:

  • Select all using the Select All icon at the top right
  • Add to Playing Queue using the Add to Playing Queue icon at the top right, which inserts the selected items after the current playing file and starts playing them
  • Play next using the 3-dot menu which adds the selected items after the current playing file in the Playing Queue
  • Play last using the 3-dot menu which adds the selected items at the end of the Playing Queue


Playing Queue

You can access the Playing Queue by tapping the Player or using the Playing Queue option on the Home Screen. The Playing Queue provides 3 views:

  • Queue which presents the list of files in the Playing Queue
    • Edit order, you can change the position of a file using Tap & Drop files using the Tap & Drop icon the right side of the file
    • Play last using the 3-dot menu which adds the selected files at the end of the Playing Queue
    • Remove from Playing queue using the 3-dot menu which removes the selected files from the Playing Queue
    • Move to Start using the 3-dot menu which moves the selected files to the top of the Playing Queue
    • Move to End using the 3-dot menu which moves the selected files to the bottom of the Playing Queue
  • Art which shows the Artwork view of the currently playing file
  • Lyrics which shows the Lyrics view of the currently playing file
    • Edit, you can edit the Lyrics using the Edit icon at the top right of the Lyrics display
    • Delete, you can delete the Lyrics using the Delete icon at the top right of the Lyrics display
    • Lookup, you lookup Lyrics online using the Search icon at the top right of the Lyrics display
    • Settings, allows you to edit the lookup settings


Next/Previous

You can either tap the Previous/Next icons or swipe left/right on the file information of the playing file on the Playing Queue to go to the previous or next file in the playing queue.


Shuffle/Repeat

The Playing queue has options to set playback to Shuffle using the Shuffle button. MMA also has 3 Repeat options which you can cycle through tapping the Repeat icon:

  • No Repeat, which disables repeat, playback will stop at the end of the playing queue (unless Shuffle is enabled)
  • Repeat One, which repeats the currently playing file indefinitely
  • Repeat All, which will start at the beginning of the playing queue once the end is reached


Casting

MMA can cast to Chromecast and DLNA capable clients. To cast select the Cast icon at the top right of the Playing queue. A list of DLNA/Chromecast capable devices will be shown. Select the device you want to cast to and playback will continue on that device.


Bluetooth Playback

Bluetooth playback is controlled by the device. When your device is connected to a Bluetooth device capable of audio playback MMA will play through that device (unless your casting).


Sleep Timer

Using the 3-dot icon when in the Playing Queue you can access the Sleep Timer:

  • Duration allows you to set how long the sleep timer should last for
  • Fade out music will fade out the volume to 30% at the end of the sleep timer when enabled
  • Play last song completely will play the last file started prior to the end of the sleep timer fully when enabled


Equalizer

Using the 3-dot icon when in the Playing Queue you can access the Equalizer:

  • Use equalizer, allows you to quickly enable/disable the Equalizer
  • Presets, allows you to select different presets
  • Frequencies, allows you to change the setting for each available frequency. This modifies the selected preset.
  • Balance, allows you to change how much volume comes out of the right and left sid


Volume Leveling

MMA can level the playback volume based on the Track Volume value set in your media files. MMW can calculate Track Volume prior to Sync, or can Sync files leveled (which doesn't require leveling to be enabled in MMA). Volume leveling can be enabled in the Options in MMA.


Scrobbling

Last.fm scrobbling can be setup in the MMA settings.
